I've seen them both, many times. DD puts on the better show. Sorry, but it's true.

And then Dave shakes his ass at the crowd 500 times trying to make the girls scream. BORING!
Half the fun of a DD show, with the original lineup, is watching Roger drum. Who plays drums for DM? Oh right, a machine. BORING! -

Alan Wilder was playing drums back on the Songs of Faith and Devotion Tour in 1994! and their Current drummer (who is awesome) Christian has been on like the last 3 tours at least.... But Mister "I don't go to large venues" wouldn't know that would you!!!! :)
Andy likes to clap so he doesn't "just stand there"....I adore Nick Rhodes but please there's only so much you can do at a keyboard...Martin mostly plays guitar these days...
come on, get with the times Mister "oh I saw Depeche Mode at the Kabuki"!!

But if we want to talk about overpriced- The Police was WAY overpriced. Oh it was AWESOME and how Sting managed to inflate the ego's the of rest of the band to get them to agree is beyond me, considering a few months before I was at a book signing for what's his name (shame I can't remember one my favorite bands members). Anyway, if they put out a new album maybe I say the price was worth the hype. I admit I am miffed that they didn't play 'Mother'.
But back to DD and DM, If you want a band that hops about the stage and really puts on a party go for the B-52's. They never let me down and when are they getting tribute (again)? -

Tue, May 26, 2009 - 1:14 PMoh yeah that Police show was outrageous! I worked both of them...the Oakland Coliseum show was positively boring (it did have its moments, but...) and the Concord show with Elvis was way better but still way way too expensive for my taste.

Would've been cool to get a last glimpse of Stuart Copeland behind the kit though. Pretty sure I remember that he's retiring from playing?
Can't say enough good things about the B-52's live show. They sound incredible live. Seriously deep
talent. And big fun too, obviously.
They're on some sort of 80's reunion tour at the Mountain Winery this summer. Can't recall the other bands aside from Berlin, but I don't recall being particularly excited by them. I may go just for the gang from Georgia though. -

Uhhhhh whatchu talkin bout Willis? Nick Cave was around $45-50 (at least in NYC where I bought a ticket to go see him last year)...the Police show cost hundreds of dollars (unless you were in the nosebleed)! -
