I hope they come here:
" As most of you will know we will be announcing a few North America Ocean Rain tour dates in the next seven days. "
" The dates are going to be announced via the bands Twitter account first then a few hours later via the Bunnymen.com mailing list and website. "

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 2:57 PMwell they've added a date at the Fox on October 22, but wouldn't you know it's the same night as HEART at the Warfield and I've been DYING to see them. fuck. Since I've already seen the Ocean Rain show I might have to skip it for Heart but maybe i can try and rockstar it! Bart is my friend! -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 7:41 PMDo they play any other songs ? Or just Ocean Rain?
Where's a good place to sit in the balcony at the Fox ?
Thanks -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 10:00 PMThat's a big venue (3000 plus) for Echo and The Bunnymen these days. For the balcony the closer the better. Think Paramount theater versus The Warfield layout wise. Didn't they have a string section on the previous "Ocean Rain" shows? The Arctic Monkeys are coming there too. I wonder if the Fox is where the Pixies "Doolittle" Oakland show is happening. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 12:13 AMWhen I saw the show the first half was just whatever old shit they wanted to play, there was a short intermission then they came back with the orchestra and did Ocean Rain. Honestly, I was a bit let down with the orchestra, which was more like a quintet. I felt like I couldn't hear it enough! I'd like to see it again to form a second opinion *sigh*.
If you can get Loge seats those are pretty swish. the seats are a tad bigger I think AND if you get 2 seats together there is a little table joining the two seats in the middle!
hmmm are the Pixies doing a Doolittle tour? I heard so far it was just one show somewhere. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 10:13 AMIt's funny how they don't always release the loge section when tickets go on sale, but then sometimes they pop up later. The Pixies announced a short Doolittle tour and Oakland was listed. The Fox would seem small for a single date, but it would be cool there. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 8:44 PMYou're gonna regret that. With the fog and backlighting they use, you wouldn't know if it was Echo & the Bunnymen or Josie & the Pussycats. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Sat, July 25, 2009 - 5:39 PMBunnymen are mad at Ticketmaster ? "volpe" password still works. From Bunnymen.com:
"TicketMaster for what ever reason have inserted a pre sale code system on the North American tour tickets without telling the Bunnymen.
Obviously we don't know the code so currently TicketMaster are removing this code and you all will be able to purchase tickets very soon."

Sat, August 8, 2009 - 1:51 AMFYI - there are many small vents in the main dance floor at The Fox blowing cool air. There was a nice cool breeze that was blowing up my baggy shorts at the Underworld concert tonight. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Sat, November 7, 2009 - 8:43 AMEcho and the Bunnymen cancel their November USA tour: "Its with the deepest regret that Echo& The Bunnymen have had to cancel their USA November tour. This is due to unreasonable demands been presented by the IRS for the band to enter the USA to tour. This is not a VISA issue. Echo & The Bunnymen will be touring the USA from East to West coast in April 2010. Please contact venues for refunds."
I guess we were lucky to see them in Oakland, in October. They canceled 8 dates in November.

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Sat, November 7, 2009 - 1:38 PMI guess we were also lucky to see Echo and the Bunnymen do a set after "the album" considering it looks like Devo is just doing an encore after their "album" sets. -

Re: Echo and the Bunnymen tour
Thu, November 12, 2009 - 6:54 PMThis update thanks to Dina's great new 80's website.
www.slicingupeyeballs.com/2009/...-fees/
UPDATE 10/6/09: The Bunnymen’s U.S. publicist today issued a press release better explaining why the band’s tour was canceled. According to the release, the tour was scuttled after the IRS rejected the band’s Central Withholding Agreement (CWA).
The release continues:
“The rejection was unexpected as the Echo & the Bunnymen team submitted the necessary paperwork in due time and in accordance with the process that had been followed on previous tours. Additionally, the IRS offered no reasoning for the rejection and was unresponsive to our inquiries. This CWA allows for foreign entertainers to be paid in full, otherwise promoters are legally obliged to withhold a minimum of 30 percent in lieu of tax which ultimately will not allow for a tour to happen at this time.”
The good news, however is that, according to the band’s official site, “Echo & The Bunnymen will be touring the USA from East to West coasts in April 2010.” Fans with tickets to the aborted November gigs are instructed to seek refunds from the venues.
